Product care
I make my products to stand the test of time. These leads are crafted from a durable, natural leather which will only look better with age.
However, you can give your lead some extra TLC by:
- Wiping any dirt from the surface of the leather with a damp cloth.
- Buffing out small scruffs or scratches from wear using a cotton cloth. This brings the natural oils to the surface of the leather.
- Feeding the leather with Original Sedgwick Leathercare to protect and replenish the natural oils in the hide. Please note that this product will slightly darken the colour of the leather.

More information
Handmade from J & E Sedgwick bridle leather and fitted with solid brass hardware, these leads are designed to last through years of use — from daily walks to demanding working days. Each one is hand-cut, edge-bevelled, burnished, and dyed before being assembled and finished by hand in my Lincolnshire workshop.
Available in three sizes to suit different dogs and working styles. Built for strength, simplicity, and timeless good looks.

Crafted from the finest materials
Like my collars and belts, these leads are made with J & E Sedgwick bridle leather, sourced from Walsall — a tannery known worldwide for its hand-finished hides. The hardware comes from Abbey England, Britain’s only remaining traditional foundry, which has been supplying saddlery components since 1832.
Both the leather and the brass are chosen for their durability, heritage, and proven field performance.

Proven in the field
These leads are not just made to look good — they’re made to be used. Bridle leather was developed to withstand the stresses of horse tack, and its strength translates perfectly to dog gear. Whether you’re heading out on a walk through the woods or working your dog in the field, these leads are built to stand up to the task.
They’ve been tested in the field for over 15 years — trusted by owners of working dogs, police dogs, and everyday companions alike.

Made in England
Each lead is handmade from start to finish in my Grantham workshop. I draw every pattern by hand, cut the leather using custom-made knives, and stitch and assemble using traditional leatherworking tools and techniques.
There’s no CAD, no outsourcing — just time-tested methods, honest tools, and small-batch attention to detail. As with all of my leathergoods, these leads are made slowly and purposefully.
Built with intention. Built to last.
