Product care

I make my products to stand the test of time. This bespoke belt is crafted from a durable, natural leather which will only look better with age.

However, you can give your belt some extra TLC by:

  • Wiping any dirt from the surface of the leather with a damp cloth.
  • Buffing out small scruffs or scratches from wear using a cotton cloth. This brings the natural oils to the surface of the leather.
  • Feeding the leather with Original Sedgwick Leathercare to protect and replenish the natural oils in the hide. Please note that this product will slightly darken the colour of the leather.

Made to order

Each leather belt is handmade to order in my workshop, using traditional techniques. It takes one week to craft a belt, from the point of order to shipping.

More information

A fully bespoke leather belt, made to your measurements and style preferences. Customise yours by selecting your ideal leather shade, buckle material, and thread colour. This is a solid yet refined design, built to stand the test of time.

Crafted from world-renowned J & E Sedgwick bridle leather, this bespoke belt features hand-bevelled, hand-dyed, and burnished edges for an extra smart look. Made to measure, each belt has seven adjustment holes, spaced one inch apart - you won’t find a better fit than this.

Made from premium bridle leather with a solid brass or stainless steel buckle, it’s designed to go wherever you do - tough enough for outdoor adventures yet smart enough for an evening out.

Designed, cut, stitched, and finished by hand in my Lincolnshire workshop using traditional leatherworking techniques.

How to measure for your bespoke belt

  1. Whilst wearing your favoured trousers or jeans, put on the belt you are looking to replace.
  2. Fasten your belt so that it fits comfortably and make a note of the hole that you’ve put the buckle tongue through.
  3. Remove your belt and lay it flat so that you can take a measurement.
  4. Measure from the hole identified in step two, to the point where the leather is folded back through the buckle. This measurement is the size that you should order. It will most likely be larger than your usual trouser size but don’t let that throw you, I assure you this is your perfect belt measurement.

If you need any assistance or guidance whilst measuring for your belt, please do not hesitate to contact me and I’ll be happy to help.

Crafted from the finest materials

Bridle leather is the obvious choice for this bespoke belt. I source mine from J & E Sedgwick, the best in the business. The tannery is based in Walsall, West Midlands, and is world-famous for its hand finished, superior quality leather.

The belt buckles are produced by Abbey England, which is family-owned and which dates back to 1832. Abbey England supplies saddlery materials to the royal family and is the only traditional foundry left in Britain.

Designed to stand the test of time

As the name suggests, bridle leather was traditionally used in the production of horse bridles because of its heavy-duty and hard-wearing qualities. A horse rider’s life depends on the quality of their tack so if Sedgwick’s is good enough for them, it’s good enough for Ashley Clarke England products.

My designs combine practicality with a classic, heritage-inspired aesthetic, creating pieces built to last and age beautifully over time.

As it accompanies you through life, your belt may get scuffed or scratched. These marks will only add to the unique character of your piece and I encourage you to embrace this. One day this belt may be passed down to the next generation, and this patina will tell a part of your story.

Made in England

Every belt is crafted from start to finish in my workshop in Grantham, England. I design each pattern using traditional methods - sketching by hand on pattern card and cutting with a scalpel.

Each new design is physically mocked up in leather - there’s no CAD involved here. Everything is done by hand, from start to finish.

Every belt is stitched on my heavy duty machines and finished by hand. The edges are hand bevelled, hand dyed and burnished.

I create limited collections of premium leather goods, always relying on tried-and-tested, traditional techniques.
