Product care
Product care
I make my products to stand the test of time. This long wallet is crafted from a durable, vegetable tanned leather which will only look better with age.
However, you can give your wallet some extra TLC by:
- Wiping any dirt from the surface of the leather with a damp cloth.
- Buffing out small scruffs or scratches from wear using a cotton cloth. This brings the natural oils to the surface of the leather.
- Feeding the leather with Original Sedgwick Leathercare to protect and replenish the natural oils in the hide. Please note that this product will slightly darken the colour of the leather.

More information
A traditional long wallet, designed to carry cards, notes, cash, and even a passport. Secure, functional, and built to last.
Crafted from hand-finished J & E Sedgwick bridle leather -originally developed for horse tack, this leather is tough enough to handle the elements and only gets better with age.
Designed with versatility in mind - the leather strap allows for secure back-pocket carrying, or it can be removed for slipping into an inside pocket.
Designed, cut, and sewn in my Lincolnshire workshop using traditional leatherworking techniques.

Crafted from the finest materials
I source my bridle leather from J & E Sedgwick, the best in the business. The tannery is based in Walsall, West Midlands, and is world-famous for its hand finished, high quality bridle leather.
The brass hardware is produced by Abbey England, which is family-owned and which dates back to 1832. Abbey England supplies saddlery materials to the royal family and is the only traditional foundry left in Britain.

Designed to endure
As the name suggests, bridle leather was traditionally used in the manufacture of horse bridles because of its heavy-duty and hard-wearing qualities. A horse rider’s life depends on the quality of their tack so if Sedgwick’s is good enough for them, it’s good enough for Ashley Clarke England products.
My designs marry functionality with classic, heritage-inspired style to produce pieces that stand the test of time and will look better and better with wear.
As it accompanies you through life, your wallet may get scuffed or scratched. This will add to the unique character of your piece and I encourage you to embrace this. One day, another generation of your family, may inherit this wallet and those signs of your story.

Made in England
Each Stamford long wallet is made from start to finish in my workshop in Grantham, England. I design my patterns using an age-old method, drawn by hand with pencil and pattern card, and cut with a scalpel.
I physically mock up each new design in leather, there’s no use of CAD in this process, everything is done by hand.
Every wallet is sewn using my trusty sewing machines and finished with my own two hands, whether that’s hand bevelling an edge or embossing a signature detail. This is how leather has been worked for centuries.
